What is Earthing?

blog body spirituality Mar 31, 2017

Earthing means connecting physically with the actual Earth itself. It has great healing properties and there's a lot of science behind it as well that I just wanted to share with you today.

One of the biggest issues that most of us have is chronic inflammation in our bodies. It is the root cause of a lot of health conditions—whether it's cardiovascular disease, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes, dementia, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, etc. Any kind of organ issue can come from chronic inflammation. On top of that, the radiation coming from our everyday gadgets can throw off our own electromagnetic energy as well.

Luckily, earthing can restore that balance within our systems, and I’m here to share with you the things you should know about it.

The science behind earthing

Our bodies have about 1300 nerve endings for every square foot of skin on the bottom of our feet—that’s A LOT of nerve endings to pick things up. The Earth has an endless supply of electrons and our electromagnetic field can pull the negative electrons from the earth into our bodies to help rebalance us.

Whenever there's a high density of electrons, they're going to move into lower-density areas, so when you physically put your actual bare feet on the ground, your body will start to pull from the earth. Those negative electrons will pull into your own magnetic field and help heal your body.

Go out and get grounded

It’s not a secret that when you’re out with nature, you just feel better and more relaxed, but the actual physical contact is something even more powerful. My goal has been to ground myself on the grass or on the earth for at least two to three times a week for a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes to help some of that healing—and that should be something you can think about too.
