Are You Channeling Dark Spirits? Or is it a Mental Disorder?

Are you channeling dark spirits?

Or is it a mental disorder?

Mental disorders are a real thing... They show up on brain scans.

You can actually see parts of the brain that are active and inactive.

There is the possibility that if you are thinking that you're hearing spirits, it may actually be coming from your brain.

There may be a physiological, structural issue going on that may be causing these delusions and hallucinations around having dark spirits talking to you.

This is important to cover because I teach channeling... I teach people how to tap into that energetic realm where they're channeling their loved ones, spirits, and angels, which are the highest vibration of love and light.

I want to be taking people down the correct path, and I want to make sure that people are completely well informed.

It takes time and expertise to figure out which one is going on.

If you're struggling with hearing dark voices, you may need to get some professional help, and I want to make sure that you are moving in the right direction to get that help.

If you don't know anything about mental health disorders, there is a spectrum between bipolar and schizophrenia, and it is called schizoaffective disorder. Symptoms show up slightly differently for everyone. Let's cover each category first so that you can get a better idea of which one you or someone else may be experiencing.

Bipolar Disorder

With bipolar, there's typically a mania episode, which can be anywhere from a week to several months. This is where you feel hyperactive. It's like you're on coffee all the time, where things are very manic and very extreme.

There's a lot of hyper hyperactivity in the mind, the emotions, and in the body. In manic episodes there's more euphoria, you feel happier, and you can sometimes get anxiety. It may be hyperactive, but it may not always be positive. There may be elements of grandiosity, where you think very highly of yourself, and your ego is coming out stronger.

A normal person is going to feel some of these things sometimes, but someone who is bipolar has more extreme sensations of these experiences that are less controllable.

Bipolar disorder then flips from a mania episode into a depressive episode, where there's a lack of motivation, lack of self-care, maybe not wanting to move, not wanting to do things, and a lot of people procrastinate by putting things off. This episode can be anywhere from a week to several months.

Bipolar disorder can bounce a week back and forth between these two states, a few days in one episode to a few weeks in the other, or it could be episodes of multiple months being in either mania or depression.

Schizoaffective Disorder

In addition, 50% of the people that are dealing with some of these bipolar episodes are also experiencing some level of schizoaffective disorder, meaning they're experiencing some level of hallucinations or delusions.

Hallucinations are when you are seeing things or hearing things that are not there. Delusions are when you are believing the things that are created in your mind, even though they're not physically there. This can also include paranoid thoughts.

So for example, you may have visions or hearings, that there's a demon or a dark spirit around you. This is experiencing hallucinations. Then once you begin to believe that it's a real thing, it's now it's becoming a delusion. If it continues to be repetitive, now becomes paranoia.

Now, suddenly, you're paranoid that there's a demon after you and that there is someone in your space in your home all the time. This is schizophrenia. This is biologically an abnormality in the brain, and it can come from trauma or be hereditary.

If you had a lot of trauma in your childhood, or anytime in your life, what happens is sometimes certain parts of the brain shut off in order to self-protect. We will put up walls in the mind. Those walls will stop neurological pathways and shut down certain parts of the brain, so the brain is not functioning properly. Trauma can actually trigger some of these things at any point in your life.

Drugs and Alcohol

These patterns can also happen over time with drugs and alcohol. Even something as simple as marijuana can cause schizophrenic symptoms. This was something that I struggled with over 20 years ago. I was smoking marijuana every single day, multiple times a day. I did this for an entire year because I had so much trauma when I was younger, that I didn't know how to deal with it and I didn't have any coping mechanisms or psychological help.

I couldn't handle how much emotional pain I was in. I couldn't handle the depression. I didn't know how to handle all the negative thoughts that were going on. I was so depressed, and I started becoming suicidal. The only thing I knew to do was to cover it up with drugs and alcohol, so I was smoking pot every day all day.

By the end of that first year, I became delusional and started having hallucinations. I didn't know the difference between reality and what was going on in my mind. That was when I stopped completely. I decided I needed to work on myself. I needed to heal myself, and I needed to heal my traumas. Once I stopped smoking marijuana, that was when everything stopped.

This can happen with prescription drugs too. Prescription drugs like ketamine, Adderall, and even sleeping pills can cause delusional hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, horrific nightmares, and demonic dreams.

I am not anti-pharmaceutical. I do believe that medications can really help you. If you do have a structural abnormality in the brain, medications can really help with these issues. But there are also medications out there that can cause that too. This is something to be very aware of if you're on medications or working with a doctor to find the right medication for you.

After I had my suicidal depressive episode and I was on drugs for a while when in my teens, I was also taking antidepressants for a short period of time. That helped me a lot. It did help to get me into a space where I could do the inner work. It helped get me out of the depression just enough so that I could start doing the trauma work. I could do the self-reflection, and I could start healing myself.

I have also met other people who have tried antidepressants, and it doesn't work with their biology. It actually made them more suicidal, or it gave them more anxiety. This is something to pay attention to when working with a medical professional who understands the process.

I'm not a psychiatrist or medical professional who is trained in pharmaceuticals. For this, you need to find a medical professional who can properly help you. There are people out there to help you medically, and mental health is something to take seriously. Make sure that you're taking care of your mind and body.

Normalizing Mental Disorders

It's okay to have a mental disorder, and it's okay to get help. I want to make sure that you are in a space where you feel like you can be honest with yourself and vulnerable. We live on this big, beautiful planet with so many beautiful things happening in the world. But there are also a lot of dark things happening in this world too. Mental health issues are far more common than people realize.

There's so much content online now when it comes to mental health disorders. There's more acceptance for being vulnerable and saying, "I do have a problem", "I am struggling." It's really important to be open about that. Don't let pride get in the way you getting help. This is just a part of life. There's nothing wrong with you and broken with you. It's just something that you're dealing with.

Having a mental health disorder doesn't mean that you have horrible karma and need to blame yourself.  All it means is you're human. You are just a human being on planet Earth. And sometimes, these are just things that are a part of life. It's nothing to feel bad about or blame yourself for, or to play the victim to. It just is what it is.

It's what you do with it, it's how you choose to cope with it, it's how you choose to show up and address it that makes the difference. It's how you choose to get help and to find the resources to help yourself that create your life.

As long as you keep reaching out, the hands will be there to grab and you will find the resources. Don't give up on yourself. Keep trying even if you try multiple types of therapies or treatments. Sometimes the first things you try don't work. That's okay. Keep trying and the answers will come.

Never give up on your mental health, never give up on your physical health, never give up on your dreams and your manifestations and all the things that you want to create. It doesn't matter how long it takes. It's about the journey.  As long as you keep moving forward in the journey, you're going to have an amazing experience where you expand, learn, and grow.

Hearing Dark Spirits

If you want to learn the step-by-step details of how to actually clear dark spirits from your home your environment from your space, please check out my last blog. I have a free PDF download that explains step-by-step how to do a house clearing. It's a lot easier than you think it is.

When you are in a high vibrational state---that means you are thinking positively, you're happy, you're confident, you're in your power, you feel worthy, and you feel connected to your body and to your life---dark spirits cannot interfere with you. Low vibrational energies will move away.

The law of attraction states that "like attracts like energy." So when you are in a depressed state--- when you are chronically worried, fearful, having anxiety, panic attacks, and things of those lower vibrations---those are the times when you are more likely to attract lower vibrational spirits into your life or your home.

This is why it's really important to do the inner work of raising your vibration and thinking positively. The law of attraction works very quickly in the non-physical world. When you are in a higher vibrational state, you're not going to be attracting any of those lower vibrations, demons, or entities into your life and into your environment.

You should also not be channeling guides or angels or doing any kind of psychic work when you are sad, depressed, angry, frustrated, or emotional, because you will draw in negative things.

If you're actually hearing dark or demonic spirits, it's because you're not in a good state to be channeling in the first place. Information will also only come in sporadically and then pass. Channeled information won't be constant or consistent. If the dark information that you're channeling is coming in over and over again, then it's not a spirit... it's a mental disorder and you need to get help right away.

To protect yourself, you must be smart and have healthy boundaries around channeling. If I'm having a bad week, I don't channel at all. During those times, I'm doing a lot of inner work and I'm just taking care of myself. I only channel when I'm in a very high vibrational state. I really encourage you to do that as well.

Through my online academy, Step into Your Power Academy, I teach all about how to channel spirit guides and angels, and how to keep your vibration really, really high. I also teach you how to protect yourself and how to do things correctly at a pace that works for you. If that's something that you're interested in, be sure to get on my email list so that you find out when the academy enrollment doors open.

Protection

You can call on Jesus Christ to help protect you or Arch Angel Michael who is the angel warrior. There's the Lord's Prayer and St. Michael's prayer, from the Bible that is also helpful. Those are great things that you can do to call in and support and protect yourself.

Visualizing surrounding yourself with white light energy around you, and making sure that you're doing everything in your power to feel confident and solid and who you are is essential.

If there is demonic energy somewhere in your energy field, whether it's in your home or elsewhere, you may need to seek out professional help. If it's a mental health condition, seek out a doctor.

If there is a real spiritual experience happening, then you may need to get some more professional help. If you do the house clearing that I taught in my previous blog and in the PDF download on this page, and it's still just not enough, you may need to get an exorcist, a priest, Reiki healers, energy workers, or psychics to do some deeper work in your home and in your space and help guide you through that process.

Just take it one step at a time, one day at a time, one moment at a time as you navigate through this world of darkness because there is darkness. And in this world, let's be honest, that's just part of being on planet Earth. You came here because you wanted a challenge. You wanted to grow as a soul and as a spirit. And you know what? Planet Earth is a good place to do that. Because there's a lot of stuff that happens here, and part of it is the darkness.

You're a strong soul or you wouldn't be here in the first place. If you didn't have it in you to make it through this lifetime, you wouldn't be here. So trust in a bigger future for yourself. Trust that there is light at the end of the tunnel, even though you cannot see it sometimes. I couldn't see the light when I was depressed, suicidal, hallucinating, and delusional. But I got through it. If I can get through it and experience beautiful things in life, then so can you!
