Omg… I’m Still Not Ready For 2019!

blog emotions Jan 13, 2019

So we’re two weeks into 2019, and I haven’t even began to think about New Year Resolutions, goals, or my game plan for this year.

Thoughts have floated through my mind, I’m compiling a little list as things come up, but overall, I’m not in the zone for 2019 yet…. And I’m okay with that.

In the last two months, I’ve been so stressed out that I got sick twice, I totaled my car (thankfully I am completely safe and healthy from the crash), then I got a back spasm that stopped me from working out for 3 weeks (which has now turned into 5 weeks… once you stop it’s tough to start again), the new car I got wouldn’t start last week, and I had some major family drama!!!

So don’t feel bad if you’re stressed from the holidays, still getting over being sick (for the second time like me), and haven’t been consistent going to the gym since the first of the month.

Now, you might be wondering why this is all happening to someone who teaches people how to manifest the life of their dreams?

Well… I’m human. Life happens. Even I get off track with alignment sometimes.

When I got busy, I stopped my meditation and visualization practices. I stopped working out, which brings me so much energy, balance, and helps move the stress out of my body. The holiday’s came around, so my diet became too much sugar and not enough protein and veggies.

The truth is, I stopped prioritizing the things that keep me mentally, emotionally, and physically balanced.

And this is the opposite of what I should have been doing! (But it’s a pattern most of us experience)

I’ve heard it said somewhere, from some wise guru that I can’t remember, “It is best to meditate 30 minutes every morning and 30 minutes every evening. When you are really stressed out, you should meditate 2 hours ever morning and 2 hours every evening.”

This is definitely not what we typically do!

When we get busy, we stop the self-care practices.

But, when we get busy is actually the time we need to be most committed to our self-care practice.

Even when you know better, sometimes you get off track. And the Universe responded loud and clear that I was not maintaining my positive vibes the last two months!

In reality, most people are so burnt out from the holidays that pushing to figure out your New Year resolutions and feeling like you have to keep up with the hustle right away, is not a good idea.

If you set goals when you’re in a funk, you’re going to get funky results. That’s how the law of attraction works!

It’s better to wait, work on recovering from the holidays, and actively focus on getting back into alignment before you attempt to set goals and resolutions for 2019.

So I’m giving you permission to let it go right now, and just take care of you for a few more days (or weeks) if you need it.

Once you’ve given yourself the proper care to recover and get back into alignment, then you will naturally feel inspired to set some goals and start taking action.

But, when things aren’t going your way, it’s a sign that you aren’t in alignment. You’re not taking the time to slow down, take care of you, get your mind right, get your energy right, and get into alignment first!

You know what I mean?

The best thing you can do if you’re feeling burnt out like me, is give yourself some space. I wanted to release a Podcast by the first of the year, but I’m okay with pushing it out till February (or whenever inspiration hits me).

And to be perfectly honest… you may not hear from me for a few more weeks, and I’m okay with that because when I connect with you again I’ll be more energized and ready to roll.

I recommend prioritizing some things that will help you recover more quickly…

  1. Take a salt bath once or twice a week
  2. Get to the gym for a short workout that will get the energy moving through your body (or do a 15 minute YouTube workout video at home)
  3. Hop in the steam room for 10 minutes while you’re at the gym
  4. Make meditation a priority (5-15 minutes a few times a week, or better yet daily, can be a game changer!)
  5. Even easier… start listening to one of my free guided meditations on self-love or confidence (Also downloadable in my FREE DOWNLOAD LIBRARY)

You’ll be amazed at how giving yourself the space to recover, move your energy, and quiet your mind will help you renew yourself.

Winter is winter for a reason. It’s the time of year to rest and recover, so that you are ready get moving when Spring and Summer hit. Allow yourself that time now.

I hope this blog gave you permission you need to slow down and take care of you right now. Never feel like you have to keep up with the Jones’ when your intuition is telling you to take care of you first. You’ll end up getting better results in the long run if you follow your heart and intuition.
